• Watch the available-pairs counter: when it drops toward one or two, plan two or three pairings ahead.
• Flowers and seasons are the most flexible tiles on the board - any two of a family match - so grab bonus pairs when they appear.
• Spend hints when the board is dense, not when it is nearly solved and the answer is staring back at you.
• Undo is free and unlimited: use it to test whether a different pairing keeps more options alive.

Counting suits pays off in the endgame: if both remaining Bamboo 7 tiles sit under the crown, the pair you spend elsewhere may strand them for good.

The classic error is harvesting the convenient outer pairs while the top layers still hide the partners you will need later. It feels productive and quietly buries the board: tiles stranded under the plateau become unreachable just as the edges empty out. Resist the urge to clear the pretty wings first - the buried middle is where games are won or lost.

The second mistake is treating tools as emergencies rather than instruments. Burning every hint in the opening minutes, shuffling at the first slow stretch, and forgetting that undo exists all cost games that patience would have saved. When the pairs counter is healthy, the best move is usually a careful look, not a button.
